Shepherd Jin is a documentary and environmental portrait photographer based in New York City. First exposed to photography in his sophomore year of high school, photographing various different club events and the school yearbook, Shepherd went on to continue his education at the Fashion Institute of Technology and received a bachelor's degree in Photography and Related Media, while minoring in Art History.
A majority of Shepherd's work consists of dangerous expeditions to various vacant structures and abandoned landscapes across the Tri-State area and beyond, capturing and documenting their past and present conditions within the ever expanding urban landscape, oftentimes utilizing the medium of analog film photography as his primary method of documentary.
Traversing through harsh and dangerous landscapes, far beyond the comfort of the city and everyday life, within lush woodlands and unforgiving marshes, the remains of a civilization long forgotten by the times and mankind, sitting quietly awaiting their final fate.
